| JKTA Calls for Immediate Release of Pending ATD 2023 List for Jammu and Udhampur | |
Jammu, September 29 (Scoop News)-The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Association (JKTA) has urged the Hon’ble Education Minister Smt. Sakina Itoo Ji immediately released the pending Annual Transfer Drive (ATD) 2023 list for the districts of Jammu and Udhampur, which remains withheld at the Directorate of School Education Jammu.
The UT President of JKTA, Bhupinder Singh, expressed concern over the delay, terming it unfortunate that while the ATD has been successfully completed for eight districts, Jammu and Udhampur have been excluded without any valid justification.
He stated that the selective implementation of the ATD process has created resentment among teachers and disrupted the smooth academic functioning of schools in the affected districts. “Teachers with genuine grounds have been waiting for their transfers for months. Such delays are demoralizing and hinder equitable deployment of staff,” Singh added.
The JKTA has appealed to the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Jenab Omar Abdullah Sahib, to personally intervene and direct the concerned authorities to release the pending ATD list without further delay. The association has also requested the Commissioner Secretary, School Education Department, to take immediate steps to ensure fairness, transparency, and impartiality in the transfer process.
“An impartial approach is solicited in implementing the transfer policy, keeping in view the pupil-teacher ratio and the requirement of teachers at various institutions,” the statement further emphasized.
The JKTA reaffirmed its commitment to cooperate with the department in all reformative measures but urged that justice and uniformity be maintained across all districts for the benefit of both teachers and students.
