Police Conducts Awareness Programmes on New Criminal Laws In Sopore, Pulwama

Srinagar, September 25 (Scoop News)-As part of an ongoing initiative to enhance public understanding of the recently enacted criminal laws, police conducted awareness programmes on New Criminal Laws in Sopore and Pulwama.

In Pulwama, an awareness programme on New Criminal Laws was organised at Women’s Police Station Pulwama with students of Women's Degree College Pulwama besides, similar sessions were also held at various schools and colleges across the district.

In Sopore, police organised a Written and Quiz Competition on New Criminal Laws (NCL) at Government Degree College, Hadipora Rafiabad. Students participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their knowledge and interest in understanding the new legal framework. The event featured lectures by Principal, GDC Hadipora, Dr. Shameem Ahmed Dar, and Advocate Umer Rafiabadi, who highlighted key provisions and individual rights under the new laws. The programme concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where outstanding participants were felicitated.

The aim of these programmes were to spread awareness of the New Criminal Laws among youth and encourage them to become informed and responsible citizens. Students were informed about their rights and responsibilities, and encouraged to play an active role in supporting law enforcement initiatives.
