In fact, everyone rightly understands that the world has not changed but people and administration keep changing frequently and not only this, India is presenting some new achievements in the context of journalism all over the world and making everyone worried.
The growth rate of print media that exists today is found degraded in comparison to the past history of journalism and finally we naturally come to conclude that a large number of real journalists cum publishers forced to count down their news publications remained switched off at present.
Yes, I feel ashamed even writing about the state of journalism after 2014. There's no doubt that after independent India, every journalist who excelled in journalism though were accorded and awarded the Padma Bhushan, including eminent journalists like Khushwant Singh Sahib and R.K. Narayan sahib Although both journalists had expressed outrage against then-Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi with different reporting and R.K Narayan exposed her involvement in corruption cases, despite all these happenings the then-Congress governments recognized their achievements by awarding them the Padma Bhushan .
In the past, journalism was a profession chosen by intelligent people and considered a matter of great pride. And if we consider former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, journalism truly captivated us. His captivating speeches and poems were captivating. Becoming a journalist required hard work, which also emphasized academic qualifications. But today, I am not only shocked but also deeply saddened that journalism has been deliberately made a spectacle for the world to see.
I consider it my responsibility to write this article and being a journalist why should I not bring this matter to the railway track so that I can awaken everyone with the truth that the standard of the fourth pillar of democracy in our country is falling day by day and journalism was such a penmanship power on the strength of which we were successful in eliminating corruption but the unfortunate thing is that in the cycle of stopping this profession the bureaucracy is busy in finding new ways every day and by conducting many search operations against the real Journalists are enjoying themselves by putting the yellow journalism in the train compartment.
Will you consider it a good luck or a bad luck that even after celebrating 78 years of independent India and seeing and learning a lot while travelling to other countries, instead of revolutionising the field of journalism in our country, we are busy in completely destroying this strong fourth pillar of democracy.
While as in today's times, journalists are facing difficulties for good reporting and due to ignorance, and apathetic attitude of the present government towards the journalist fraternity is matter of grave concern and the financial strength and position of many journalists has also become very bad and of course, many good newspapers have also been forced to close down many owner journalists. The new journey of Journalists within the compartment of the train Journalism that runs on tracks nowadays makes merry and jokes for everyone to enjoy. The conditions and situations have now been created that the very desire to live for an exact and accurate newscaster or columnist has been destroyed.
Today’s time, the news on a packed train compartment of journalism ran on tracks in which such journalists are travelling whom we cannot mention even in our dreams. If you too were to board this compartment, you would certainly experience and feel that it would indeed include drivers, conductors, tailors, barbers, watchmakers, flower garland makers, vegetable vendors, watermelon sellers, horse carriage drivers, cart runners, contractors, and even some illiterate guards from across the country occupying their berths and positions while good honest journalists were forced to hide their hides.
