Police organises awareness programmes on child labour, drug abuse & illicit trafficking

Srinagar, September 18 (Scoop News)- As part of its continuous efforts to curb social evils and promote community awareness, Police in Handwara organised awareness programmes on child labour (under the New Criminal Laws), drug addiction, and illicit trafficking at Hill Park International School, Handwara and Valley Educational Institute, Qalamabad.

During these sessions, police officers sensitised participants about the grave consequences of drug abuse and illicit trafficking on individuals, families, and society. They emphasised the crucial role of parents, teachers and community leaders in safeguarding the younger generation from these menaces.

The speakers also stressed the importance of eradicating child labour, underlining that every child deserves education, protection, and a safe environment to grow and contribute positively to society.

The programmes witnessed enthusiastic participation from parents, teachers, and students, who appreciated the initiative and acknowledged the proactive role of J&K Police in strengthening community-police relations and guiding society towards a healthier and more responsible future.

J&K Police reaffirmed its commitment to organising such community outreach initiatives for the welfare and betterment of society.
