G.A. Mir visits flood affected villages, takes stock of losses


Srinagar, August 29 (Scoop News)-Amid current worrisome situation confronting public due to the flash floods in different areas falling in Dooru assembly segment and elsewhere in South Kashmir, MLA Dooru and General Secretary All India Congress Committee Ghulam Ahmad Mir on Friday reached out to people in various affected villages where he took stock of the losses caused to properties and business establishments.



Mir reviewed the post flood situation in Akkoshipora, Hakura, Badasgam, Hiller, Kandiwara, Kalhar

and other affected areas and expressed serious concern over the devastation caused due to floods and sought immediate compensation to affected people, while expressing serious concern over the damages caused to residential houses, cow sheds and other properties which has left common people in a difficult situation.



During the emergency tour, MLA Dooru found that electricity, water supply schemes, protection bunds, road, bridges and other Govt properties have also been left devastated and strongly urged the administration to replace the losses by initiating action on war footing basis to ensure respite to common people.

CLP Leader urged upon the Govt to assess the losses and provide compensation to affected people, ensuring that they are able to manage the damages and resume their normal day to day activities, adding that there is need for a comprehensive plan to be made for future challenges especially flood like situations, for that matter, Govt is required to constitute a team of experts who will suggest more effective measures to deal with the emergency situations both in Jammu and Kashmir regions.
