Police Organises Thana Diwas in Handwara

Srinagar, August 28 (Scoop News)- As part of its ongoing public outreach and community engagement programme, Police organised Thana Diwas across all police establishments in Police District Handwara, including Police Stations Handwara, Kralgund, Qalamabad, Vilgam and Police Posts Zachaldara, Magam, Langate, and Chogul.

These events were chaired by the respective jurisdictional police officers and witnessed active participation of community members, civil society representatives, Auqaf members, traders’ federations, transporters and other respected citizens.

During the interactive sessions, participants raised various issues of public importance, including matters related to policing, law & order, traffic management, drug menace, and other community concerns. Officers gave patient hearing to all the grievances and assured that genuine issues pertaining to police will be addressed on priority. Issues falling outside police purview were taken note of for referral to the concerned civil administration.

Speaking on the occasion, officers emphasised that Thana Diwas serves as a bridge between police and the public, providing a platform to strengthen mutual trust, ensure better grievance redressal and promote collective responsibility for peace and security.
