GCOE Jammu hosts inter-college essay writing competition and anti-drug campaign


Jammu, August 08 (Scoop News)- As part of the Vikshit Bharat Yuva Connect programme, Government College of Education (GCOE) Jammu organised an inter-college essay writing competition and an IEC campaign against drugs under the NCORD Committee of the college. The events began with a welcome by Dr. Ambica Kumari.

Chief guest Dr. Jyoti Parihar, Principal GCOE Jammu, and guest of honour Mr. Daljeet Singh Manhas, Dean of Student Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu, attended the programme. Students from various colleges participated in the essay competition, judged by Prof. Satish Sharma (GCOE Jammu) and Dr. Ritu Magotra (GCW Parade). Haniska Sharma (GGM Science College) won first place, Priyanshi Kathial (School of Sciences) came second and Areebah Khan (PSPS Government College for Women, Gandhinagar) placed third.

The anti-drug campaign featured talks by Dr. Nusrat Chouhan (MO), Mr. Kewal Krishan (SI) and Ms. Shifali Gupta (Sr. Lecturer) highlighting the dangers of substance abuse.

Other attendees included Prof. Ramzan Ali (NCORD Convener), Dr. Zuber Kalis, Madam Shafia, Prof. Sunanda Rani, Dr. Rajinder Kour and Dr. Rakesh Bharti. Prof. Deepali Kundal delivered the vote of thanks. The NSS team and NCORD committee coordinated the events.
Both events concluded with participants pledging to work towards a developed and drug-free India.
