A 3-Day Capacity Building Programme on NEP 2020 was inaugurated

Leh, August 04 (Scoop News)- A 3-Day Capacity Building Programme on NEP 2020 was inaugurated today by the Directorate of School Education, UT Ladakh, in collaboration with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The programme, designed, developed and delivered by CBSE’s Training Unit, aims to empower government school teachers of UT Ladakh with inclusive pedagogies, experiential learning pedagogy, digital competencies, and competency-based assessment strategies aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and NCF-SE 2023.

The inaugural session was graced by Shri Rahul Singh, IAS, Chairman, CBSE, as the Chief Guest, alongside distinguished dignitaries including Ms. Bhanu Prabha, IAS, Secretary School Education, UT Ladakh, Sh. Manoj Kumar Srivastava, Director Training, CBSE, Sh. Tsering Paldan, Director School Education, UT Ladakh, Sh. Zakir Hussain, Joint Director, School Education, UT Ladakh.

Chairman CBSE, Shri Rahul Singh, IAS, emphasized the urgent need for in-house capacity building of teachers across all subjects and secondary grades. He urged stakeholders to identify need-based training programmes informed by Board Examination results and PARAKH assessments. He shared the CBSE vision of Training to ensure availability of subject-specific trainers across different subjects and across grades are available in every geographical region. He called upon educators to introspect and identify the root causes of learning gaps. He encouraged teachers to take this programme as an opportunity and make the most of it.

Secretary SE UT Ladakh, Ms. Bhanu Prabha shared insights on the performance of UT Ladakh students in the recent CBSE Board Exams. She stressed the importance of focused and contextualized training programmes to uplift learning outcomes in government schools and reiterated the UT’s commitment to teacher development.

Director (Training) CBSE, Sh. Manoj Kumar Srivastava lauded the initiative taken by the Department of School Education, UT Ladakh. He sensitized participants about CBSE’s new capacity-building programmes, which aim to bridge policy and practice through competency-based, inclusive, and digitally enabled training programmes.

The event saw the participation of approximately _70___ teachers from different Government Schools.

Over the course of three days, the training will focus on the aligning classroom practices with the vision of NEP 2020 and guidelines set forth by National Curriculum Framework School Education 2023. Participants will be engaged in interactive sessions, hands on activities, reflective exercises, peer learning and action planning sessions that are relevant and grounded in real classroom challenges. The programme aims to equip, empower and support teachers to deliver curriculum that is inclusive, experiential and competency driven.
