JKCCC hosts Grand Farewell for Two Retiring Chief Engineers

Srinagar, July 01 (Scoop News)-The Jammu & Kashmir Contractors Coordination Committee (JKCCC) organized a grand farewell ceremony to honour two of the Jammu & Kashmir’s most respected engineers—Mrs. Tanvir Mir, Engineer-in-Chief of the Public Works (R&B) Department, and Mr. Sajad Naqeeb, Chief Engineer of Central Kashmir—both of whom retired on June 30, 2025, after distinguished careers spanning several decades in public service.

The heartfelt and dignified event was held at the Banquet Hall in Srinagar, where a large gathering of senior engineers, contractors, department officials and well-wishers came together to celebrate the immense contributions of the two retiring officers to the infrastructure and development of Jammu & Kashmir.

Engineer-in-Chief Tanvir Mir, widely respected for her visionary leadership and commitment to quality in public works, leaves behind a legacy of innovation and administrative excellence. Chief Engineer Sajad Naqeeb, equally admired for his hands-on approach and accessibility, earned widespread respect among contractors and officials alike for his integrity and people-centric leadership.

Both officers were honoured with traditional Kashmiri shawls and heartfelt tributes from members of the engineering and contractor community. Speakers shared their experiences working with the two, praising their humility, professionalism, and the lasting impact they have had on J&K’s development landscape.

Speaking on the occasion, JKCCC Chairman Ghulam Jeelani Purza said, "Today, we are not just bidding farewell to two senior officers, but to two stalwarts of our engineering fraternity. Engineer-in-Chief Tanvir Mir Sahiba and Chief Engineer Central Kashmir Sajad Naqeeb Sahab have served with unmatched dedication. Their absence will be deeply felt."
"Their honesty and commitment to public service have inspired many. They helped build not just physical bridges, but also fostered unity and trust within our communities. We are proud to have worked with them and pray for their continued health, peace, and happiness in this new chapter of life."

Chairman Purza also emphasized that the JKCCC, representing thousands of contractors across Jammu & Kashmir, deeply values the professionalism and cooperation consistently extended by both officers throughout their careers.

The evening concluded with a vote of thanks, followed by a dinner and informal interactions, leaving attendees with warm memories and deep respect for the two retiring officers.
