Cricket match for visually impaired cricketers held at Higher secondary school Bugam Kulgam** | | 
Srinagar, June 18 (Scoop News)-An extraordinary cricket match for visually impaired cricketers was organized at Government Higher Secondary School Bugam, Kulgam. The event was conducted by Humanity Welfare Organization Helpline NGO in collaboration with the District Administration and the Higher Secondary School Bugam.
Two teams participated in the match: SB Titans, led by Showkat Ahmad Lone, and Rising Stars, captained by Yasir Ahmad. SB Titans won the toss and elected to bat first. They put up a total of 145 runs.
Among the standout performers was Mohammad Shafi, a talented cricketer from Badimarg, Shopian made 74 runs and remained not out while as Abid Hussain Dar of Rising stars took three wickets and did 40 runs
The Rising stars while defending the score 145 runs were stopped by SB Titans at the score 90 for all out. Mohammad Shafi wani was declared man of the match
In the end Winning and losing teams were awarded trophies certificates and medals. Manzoor Ahmad wani Principal Government Higher secondary school Bugam and Dr mohammad Akber from the sports department distributed medals and certificates.
Javed Ahmad Tak Padma Shri Awardee who was present as chief guest spoke on the occasion. He said family community government has role in empowering persons with Disabilities. The persons with severe Disabilities can participate in every activity but they need equal opportunities protection of Rights and full participation as mandated by the Rights of persons with Disabilities Act 2016. Tak added.
Earlier District Adminstration through Waqar Ahmad ADC Kulgam arranged Night stay and food arrangements for all the blind cricketers at GGMHSS Kulgam. The Assistant commissioner revenue, Tehsildar Kulgam Youth sports officer facilitated the event on directions of ADC Kulgam.
The host of the programme principal Government Higher secondary school Bugam alongwith with staff provided all the facilities for making the event successful.
