Government Polytechnic Jammu organizes a seminar titled “Dignity and Human Rights of Persons

Jammu, June 05 (Scoop News)-Government Polytechnic Jammu organized an insightful seminar titled “Dignity and Human Rights of Persons Involved in Manual Scavenging,” under the esteemed guidance of Er. Talet Mahmood, Principal, Government Polytechnic Jammu. The event was attended by students from the 4th semester of the Computer/IT and Electrical Engineering departments.
Dr. Supreet Singh, MD Dermatology and Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at ASCOMS & Hospital, and Chief Dermatologist at Anusukh Derma care Centre, served as the resource person.
The seminar commenced with a floral tribute presented to Dr. Singh by Er. Talet Mahmood, Principal Government Polytechnic Jammu, Er. Inderjeet Singh Workshop Superintndent, Er. Sukhdeep Singh, HoD Civil Engineering, and Er. Sanjay Gupta, HoD Electrical Engineering Department.
Dr. Supreet Singh's session delved into the critical issues surrounding manual scavenging, including the associated health hazards and the legal frameworks established to eradicate this practice. He highlighted the government's initiatives aimed at rehabilitation and the preservation of human dignity for those affected. Emphasizing the role of youth, Dr. Supreet Singh encouraged students to actively participate in spreading awareness within their communities, thereby contributing to societal betterment.
The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Er. Snehjot Kour, Demonstrator, Computer Department. As a token of appreciation, Er. Talet Mahmood presented Dr. Supreet Singh with a memento, acknowledging his efforts in enlightening students on this significant issue.
The event was organized by Er. Devika Bhardwaj, Demonstrator, Electrical Department, and Er. Snehjot Kour, Demonstrator, Computer Department.
The occasion was also graced by the presence of Er. Heena Gupta, Demonstrator, Er. Salini Goel, Demonstrator Computer Department, Er. Vicky Sharma, Demonstrator (A/A) and Mr. Rakesh Kullar Electrical Engineering Department.
