| Police arrests drug peddler in Budgam; Contraband substances recovered | |
Srinagar, August 01 (Scoop News)-Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police in Budgam have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substances.
Police received an information through reliable sources that one person namely Ubaid Qayoom Sheikh son of Abdul Qayoom Sheikh resident of Dharambugh Kralpora Budgam has hoarded contraband substances in his residential house. Acting swiftly, a special police team headed by In-charge PP Mouchwa along with Executive Magistrate reached the spot. During search, charas like substance weighing about 20.100 Kgs was recovered from the said house. Besides, accused has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 107/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered at PS Chadoora & investigation has been initiated.
