| No accountability of officials without an elected Govt: Manjit Singh | | Demands holding of Assembly Elections in J&K |
Jammu, December 10 (Scoop News)-Apni Party Provincial President, Jammu, and Former Minister, S. Manjit Singh today demanded accountability of the Govt officials who fail to perform and complete the developmental projects in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Former Minister was addressing a meeting at village Pakhdi in Vijaypur Block, Samba District. The participants highlighted their concern about the slow pace of development and ignorance of their village regarding basic amenities.
In his address, Manjit Singh said the developmental issues have multiplied because of the ignorant attitude of the authorities towards the concerns of the people.
He said that the developmental activities have declined, and the pending developmental projects have not been completed.
“The officials are not held accountable because there is no accountability in absence of an elected Govt. The situation has emerged because the authorities are working without consulting the public representation,” he said.
He said that the Election Commission of India must hold Assembly Elections in Jammu and Kashmir to address the growing concerns of the people.
“The elected Govt is always answerable to the masses whereas the babus hardly care about the concerns of the people regarding development, employment, and basic amenities etc.,” he added.
As a result, he said that “There is anger among the people of both the regions because they feel dejected by the authorities. Therefore, it becomes important to hold elections and restore statehood that has been snatched and J&K was downgraded into a Union Territory from a historic State.”
