JPBM organizes “International Human Rights Day” | | Jammu, December 10 (Scoop News)-Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir Human Rights Commission has been demanded by Jammu Province Bachao Manch (JPBM) Chairman Mr. Ashok Sharma Advocate, former MLA on the occasion of “International Human Rights Day” in a statement issued here today. Mr. Sharma said that for some past years, the cases filed before the J&K State Human Right Commission are stand still despite the fact that Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) of which India is one of the signatory provides for equality, freedom from discrimination, life, liberty, personal security, freedom from slavery, freedom from torture and degraded treatment. Mr. Sharma added that consumer exploitation, discrimination between haves not and have not’s, drinking water, electricity scarcity are the basic needs which are require to be given top priority on ground to ensure restoration of human rights. Road accidents, drug abuse, forced migration, unemployment, lack of infrastructure for education to children and health care in remote and hilly areas, gender discrimination and sex abuse are required to be address. He also urged upon the Union Government to restore statehood to Jammu and Kashmir with land and job guarantee in a dignify manner to restore the glory, pride and honour of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
