BJP celebrates birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh ji | | Jammu, September 24 (Scoop News)-On the birthday of great Dogra ruler Maharaja Hari Singh, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir organized a series of programmes to celebrate the occasion.
Ravinder Raina, J&K BJP President along with MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, BJP NEM Priya Sethi, BJP Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi, Parmod Kapahi, Rekha Mahajan and others paid tributes to the great Maharaja at Maharaja Hari Singh statue, Tawi Bridge, Jammu.
Former Dy. Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, former Minister Sat Sharma, former Minister Dr. Devinder Manyal, former MLA Ashwani Sharma, former MLCs Choudhary Vikram Randhawa & Girdhari Lal Raina, Secretary Ayodhya Gupta, Bawa Sharma, Sanjay Khanna, Ajay Vaid, BJYM President Arun Dev Singh, OBC Morcha President Sunil Prajapati, Parmod Kapahi, Rekha Mahajan, Parduman Singh, Sanjay Baru, Vinay Gupta, Karan Singh, Jeet Angral, Puneet Mahajan, Sanjay Bakshi and others paid tributes to the Maharaja at BJP headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.
Ravinder Raina, while paying tributes, said that Maharaja Hari Singh was a brave Dogra ruler, who treated all the sections equal and was of the view that justice to all is my 'Dharma'. He took a number of historic and bold decisions for the SCs, women and the downtrodden people. He was the first ruler to open the doors of temples for permitting the Dalits to perform 'Pooja'. He was of the view that the girl should be given equal opportunities of education and progress in life.
"Maharaja was a hardcore patriot, who in the round table conference held at London strongly advocated for the Independence of the country from the British", Ravinder said and added that his life has many instances, which keep inspiring the nationalist people of J&K as well as other parts of the country.
Maharaja Hari Singh, at the time of the partition of the country on communal lines, opted to remain with the Bharat and entered into an agreement of accession with the then government at the centre, said Raina.
Dr. Nirmal Singh highlighted the contribution of Maharaja Hari Singh ji in socio-political and religious reforms in the erstwhile state during his rule.
Kavinder Gupta said that Maharaja Hari Singh was known for his high virtues, secular character, initiatives in education and other reforms.
Sat Sharma termed the Maharaja Hari Singh as the most progressive ruler, who was way ahead of his time and devoted to the welfare of people.
Dr. Devinder Manyal said that the fitting tributes to the Maharaja is by promoting Dogra values of friendship and goodwill.
