JKNPP celebrates 75th Accession Day in Jammu/Srinagar
Jammu, October 27 (Scoop News)-J&K National Panthers Party (JKNPP) today celebrated 75th Accession Day of State Accession with the Union of India. Maharaja Hari Singh the then President of the State had signed the Instrument of Accession on October 26, 1947. The accession was approved/accepted by Lord Mountbatten, the then Governor-General of India in the morning hours of October 27, 1947. The first battalion of the Indian Army landed at the Srinagar Airport by about 8.30 a.m. It was the first Sikh Battalion of the Indian Army which dashed the Pakistani Army from across Baramullah District which was held for three days by the Dogra Army under the leadership of Brig. Rajinder Singh. Brig. Rajinder Singh was martyred by Pakistani raiders on October 26, 1947. The Indian Army got tremendous support from the Kashmiri public including Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and all. Youth leader, Maqbool Sherwani was nailed to death by Pakistani Army in Baramullah who led the Kashmiri youth against Pak-raiders.
The Panthers Party observed 75th Accession Day at Jammu & Srinagar and expressed gratitude to the Indian Army who had reached Baramullah after the J&K Army had continued fight loosing hundreds of J&K Army soldiers. Maharaja Hari Singh had appointed Brig. Rajinder Singh to resist the Pak-invaders. Almost all the J&K Army sacrificed their lives but stopped Pak-raiders for nearly two days. The Govt. of J&K under President’s Rule had declared October 26 as a State Holiday claiming that Maharaja Hari Singh had signed the Instrument of Accession on October 26, 1947.
The Panthers Party greeted the J&K Army who did not allow Pak-raiders to cross Baramullah to enter the Valley. The Panthers Party showered flowers and garlanded the statue of Maharaja Hari Singh who offered accession on October 26, 1947. The accession was accepted the next day on October 27, 1947 and therefore the Panthers Party demanded that 27th day of October should be declared as a National Holiday.
The Panthers Party in a short note has issued a notice to one Panthers Party activist Mr. Surinder Singh Chauhan for the misuse of letter head of the Panthers Party to file a fraudulent/misleading fictitious FIR in a police station, Satwari, Jammu in which the said party person has filed a complaint on the official letterhead of the Panthers Party which is an offence.
The President of JKNPP, Prof.Bhim Singh called a short meeting of the Secretariat of the party this evening and appealed the Lt. Governor, Mr. Manoj Sinha to take appropriate action against the police functionaries of Satwari Police Station who has entertained a mischievous letter written by Mr. Surinder Singh Chauhan.
