JKPC expressed concern over the loss of lives and huge damage
Mir and other senior leaders also xpress shock over the tragic death of health warrior Kulwant Singh Shan

Jammu,October 25 (Scoop News)-Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has expressed concern over the loss of lives and huge damage to crops due to unprecedented and unseasonal rains/hailstorm in Jammu and Kashmir and demanded adequate ex-gratia relief to the victims and farmers and orchardists.



Chief Spokesperson JKPCC Mr. Ravinder Sharma (Ex-MLC) has expressed grave shock over the loss of precious lives and shared the grief of the victim families. He sought immediate ex-gratia relief to the families. He said that the farmers and orchardists have suffered immense loss to their crops and produce due to unprecedented and unseasonal rains/hail storm & snow that have lashed the entire State of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the standing paddy crops, vegetables and fruits have been totally destroyed by the incessant rains and hailstorm in several areas. This tragedy of destruction of crops has come on the farmers at a time when they are already reeling under serious crisis on account of very high prices of petrol, diesel, fertilizers, seeds etc.



Mr. Sharma demanded that the administration should wake up to the situation and immediately provide adequate ex-gratia relief before total estimation of the losses suffered by the farmers is made.



Meanwhile JKPCC Chief G.A. Mir and other senior leaders has expressed great shock over the tragic death of health warrior Kulwant Singh Shan brother of Senior Congress leader Pyare Lal Shan of Kishtwar besides two others belonging to district Kishtwar due to heavy snow storm.



Shri Kalwant Singh Shan was an ambulance driver who went to drop the dead body taking huge risk and later struck in snow storm in Margon top area of Warvan on October 22 and went missing. He was traced on Sunday but his body is yet to be airlifted. They demanded immediate airlifting of his dead body and immediate ex-gratia relief for the family of brave health worker besides giving him suitable award posthumously.

The party leaders conveyed heartfelt condolences to the family and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
