| Div Com, IGP reviews R-Day arrangements | | 
Jammu, January 20 (Scoop News) - A meeting was held to discuss the security, traffic and other arrangements for the forthcoming Republic Day celebration 2011 under the chairmanship of Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr. Pawan Kotwal.
Among others, Inspector General of Police Dilbag Singh, District Development Commissioner Jammu Sanjeev Verma, Joint Commissioner JMC Babu Ram, DIG Police Farooq Khan, DIG Traffic Kamal Saini, DIG Security P. R. Manhas, Director School Education Gulzar Ahmad Qureshi, Joint Director Information Soujanya Sharma, SSP Jammu Basant Rath, Secretary JDA M. Y. Malik, General Manager JKSRTC A. H. Wani, RTO Jammu Verinder Slathia and other senior officers from Police, Army and other lined department attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held regarding various issues pertaining to seating arrangement, traffic regulation, parking sites, security and other allied arrangements for the smooth conduct of the Republic Day celebration.
Divisional Commissioner discussed various security arrangements to be made for the smooth and incident free celebration of Republic Day -2011. He asked the traffic department to deploy adequate traffic police officials and also ensure uninterrupted movement of the vehicles of VVIP's and that of public around the venue. He directed the RTO to ensure adequate number of vehicles be engaged for ferry the general public be reached the venue well in time.
In the meeting, a need for co-ordination among sister agencies was felt to provide fool-proof security to the VVIP's and all participating people. Div Com and IGP exhorted upon the officers that it is time to remain vigilant and alert during the coming Republic Day celebration to fail any nefarious design of the antinational elements.
