Apni Party celebrates birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar


Jammu, April 14 (Scoop News)- Apni Party today celebrated the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar at their party office in Gandhi Nagar.
In a statement to the press, to mark the celebration of Dr Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, SC State Coordinator, Bodh Raj Bhagat and OBC State Coordinator Madan Lal Chalotra organized the function at the Party Office where the contribution of Dr BR Ambekar was remembered.
On this occasion, General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra, Provincial President Jammu, Manjit Singh, Provincial President Women Wing Namrta Sharma, District President, Jammu, Pranav Shagotra, J&K Trade Union President, Ajaz Kazmi, Provincial Secretary Dr Rohit Gupta, Vice President J&K Youth Wing Raqeeq Ahmed Khan, General Secretary Youth Wing J&K, Abhay Bakaya, District President Kishtwar Mohinder Parihar, SC District Jammu Urban, Vijay Mangotra, SC District President, Samba, Raj Kumar Bhagat, SC District President, Samba, Babli Rani, District President Youth Wing Shiv Choudhary, Panch Rajiv Kumar, District President Rural, Ajay Rana, State Coordinator for Jammu of Displaced Kashmiri Pandits Vinod Pandita and State Coordinator for Kashmir Sanjay Dhar, Shankar Singh, Sansar Chand, senior ST leaders Saleem Choudhary, Shabir Kohli, Randhir Singh, Vipul Bali, Laba Ram, Naib Sarpanch, Kali Das, Babu Ram Bhagat, Darshal Lal, Balbir Kumar, Raj Sharma, Kulwant Singh, Sushil Khajuria, Raj Kumar Lalotra, Simranjeet Singh, Janmeet Bali, and others.
In his address, General Secretary, Vikram Malhotra said that the freedom of speech and expression which is guaranteed in the constitution of the country has not been given importance nowadays.
“There is a general feeling among the people that the times have changed and dissent voices are not given heed and instead, they are being seen as otherwise which is unfortunate,” said Malhotra.
He said that the constitution given to the country by Dr BR Ambedkar has given equality to everyone without any bias on the basis of caste, creed, religion or region.
Meanwhile, Provincial President, Manjit Singh highlighted the importance of celebrating the birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar and constitutional values for the downtrodden section of society.
Since independence of the country, Manjit Singh said that the OBC community is still struggling to get their reservation rights fulfilled in J&K. “The 27% reservation which they enjoy in the rest of the country is being denied in J&K,” said Manjit Singh and added that the OBC should be given 27% reservation in Jammu and Kashmir so that the neglected community can get constitutional rights which is guaranteed by Ambedkar.
Speaking on the occasion, Provincial President, Women Wing, Jammu, Namrta Sharma said that the Constitution of India has given equal constitutional rights to the women in all the professions.
“The women of the SC and OBC communities deserve still economic and social upliftment even as the guarantee has been given in the Indian Constitution,” Namrta said.
On this occasion, District President, Jammu, Pranav Shagotra said that India is a democratic country and constitutional supremacy should not be compromised while being in Govt.
“The political party in Govt must give all equal rights and fulfill rights of the neglected section of society for the unity and integrity of the country,” he added.
Meanwhile, OBC State Coordinator Madan Lal Chalotra, and SC State Coordinator Bodh Raj Bhagat remembered the contribution of Baba Sahib Ambedkar for the neglected section of society. They insisted on the need to follow the path shown by Ambedkar and uplift the economically poor, socially neglected and politically deprived people
