| Budgam Police arrests two drug peddlers, contraband substance recovered | |
Srinagar, September 18 (Scoop News)-Police in a series of action against drug dealings in Budgam have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession.
In the Jurisdiction of PS Khag, officers at a checkpoint established at Sursh Crossing of Khag area intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK04B-6503 with one person on board. He has been identified as Abdul Majeed Parray @Afzal resident of Ganastan, Sumbal. During search officers were able to recover 200 grams of Charas from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station Khag, where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, case FIR No. 77/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Khag and investigation has been initiated.
Similarly, in the Jurisdiction of PP Narbal, at a checkpoint established at Check Kawoosa, officers intercepted a vehicle (Alto 800) bearing registration number JK04E-5969 with one person on board, identified as Abdul Majeed Akhoon resident of Manhama Magam. During search 2016 tablets of banned drugs were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
A case FIR No. 138/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Magam and investigation has been initiated.
Vehicles used in the commissions of crime have also been seized.
Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law.
