| DM G’bl visits Warpoo red zone area | | Ganderbal, July 15 (Scoop News)-District Magistrate Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal today visited Warpoo, Shuhama to review the implementation of restrictions in this recently declared red zone area, after few Covid positive cases were reported in the area.
During the visit, the DM said that there shall be no in and out ward movement of any person within the red zone, he also exhorted upon the people to stay indoors and help in breaking the chain of virus in the red zone Muqdam Mohalla and New Colony-Warpoo areas.
While interacting with the Masjid Committee, DM urged upon them to advise locals of the village to restrict their movement and desist from allowing relatives or visitors to visit their homes and added that any person found violating the directions as ordered in the area shall be booked under the provisions of relevant act, law or rule.
Meanwhile, the DM emphasized upon the officials of health department for rapid sampling in red zone areas of the district and directed for cent percent sampling of pregnant ladies, people above 60 years of age and service providers in these areas of the district besides increasing the contact tracing of positive cases.
Earlier, to control the spread of COVID-19 infection, District Magistrate declared Muqdam Mohalla and New Colony-Warpoo as red zones besides surrounding areas of the red zone viz-KambayMohalla and Rose lane were declared as buffer zones.
Additional District Magistrate Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, ASP Ganderbal, EO Municipality, Tehsildar Ganderbal, BMO, and other concerned officials accompanied the DM during the visit.
