Bathing jetty is required at cremation ground Bhour Camp | | Jammu, July 13 (Scoop News)-The JK Youth Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKYSAC) has strongly urged the government to sanction Snana Ghat (Bathing Jetty) at Shamshan Ghat (Cremation Ground) Bhour Camp to felicitate the PoK refugees as they are facing lot of problems during the last rites in case of any person dies. As per the press note, the president JKYSAC Pt RC Sharma (Journalist, RTI & Peace Activist) and Pt Chaman Lal have elaborated that during observing last rites within 13 days of death the family members and relatives have to accomplish several rituals as per the Indian culture and especially on 10th day the Snan Ghat is very essential. He said that in the lack of Snan Ghat the all the mourners in general and female mourners in particular have to face very awkward and embarrassing situation, which could be avoided. He further said that in the modern era of 21st century and country is heading towards self reliance, the people have to go through such type of mental trauma only the lack of Snan Ghat. He said after cremating the dead person the family and relatives has to observe 10th day and has to go for bathing enmass and clothes washing particularly near flowing water. Due to dirty water in Balol Nallah and non availability of Snan Ghat it becomes difficult for females to accomplish the necessary rituals as per the Snatan. He said that it can be imagine how females are forced to accomplish the customs under pressure in the open. Sometimes Panchayat Ghar is used, if available vacant otherwise hand pump is used for the purpose. All concerned are apprised of the problem but no any kind of action taken in this regard till date. He urged the government to immediate sanction Snan Ghat at Bhour Camp Shamshan Ghat and fulfil the old long pending demand of Bhour Camp people Displaced Persons of 1947 and popularly known as refugees from POJK.
