| Singh visiting Ladakh to hold high level meeting of field Commanders | |
Leh(Ladakh)), July 2, (Scoop News)-To take stock of Indian army’s preparedness, the Union Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, is scheduled to visit Ladakh region on any day of next week, informed sources said.
Singh is expected to hold high level meetings with the field commanders of 14th Corps, sources said adding this will be the first visit of the Defence Minister of the region after two hostile neighbouring armies, India and China, witnessed a violent standoff in which 20 Indian brave hearts were martyred on June 15/ 16.
Both India and China have significantly enhanced their deployments with thousands of soldiers, helicopters, fighter jets, heavy artillery, tanks, multi barrel rocket launchers, missiles and air defence systems in the region as military talks at various levels have yielded no results so far.
He is likely to be accompanied by the Army Chief, General MM Navarane.
