GCW Parade holds 5-day National Webinar on “Development of e-content Avoiding Plagiarism”

Jammu, June 29 (Scoop News)- A five day National Webinar on “Development of e-content Avoiding Plagiarism” (FDP) was organised by Government College for Women Parade under the aegis of the college IQAC from 24th to 28th of June, 2020.
The webinar, first of its kind in the province of Jammu, is aimed at to orient the teaching fraternity about the digital pedagogical skills of teaching and learning which was attended by 242 participants from different parts of the country and abroad (California) as well.
The inaugural session commenced with a brief welcome message by Shayat Kumar Dhar, Associate Professor Convener IQAC followed by address by Dr. S P Sarswat, Principal of the College.
Dr. Sarswat, while highlighting the broader aspects of the concept of e-content development and plagiarism, expressed hope that this webinar would enable the participants get a fair understanding of various online platforms currently available under the ambit of information and communication technology.
Dr. Ashok Sharma, Associate Professor LTU Punjab, spoke at length, on the procedural details for using online platforms like Moodle cloud, blackboard etc in the designing, developing of the e content and then its subsequent delivery to the students.
Dr. Vishal Goyal, Professor of Computer sciences, Punjabi University, Punjab, while interacting with the participants on the 2nd day of the webinar, underlined the fact of remaining conscious to the plagiarism during designing and developing e content.
Amitavo Mitra, an expert in patent drafting, delivered a thought provoking interactive talk on “Intellectual Property Rights”. He highlighted the concept of Intellectual property Rights, its various forms and its importance in academic institutions.
Vaneesha Jain another resource person spoke on copyrights laws and discussed in detail the copyright Act of 1957.
Garima Sahney, answered the queries of participants about disputes about patents and the legal remedies available while Dr. Romesh Sharma delivered a lecture on “How to avoid Plagiarism while Developing e-Content”. He shared with participants different web links that acts as detection tools for plagiarised work.
Dr. Preeti Dubey conducted hands on practice session to acquaint the participants with using Google platform for assessment of the students.
Pritam Juvatkar talked about the Innovative Ways for Teaching in Pandemics. His Session was liked by all as it explored different ways to upload educational videos on YouTube channel.
The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Sonia Khajuria, Department of English and Member IQAC, GCW, Parade.
