JKPCC and TCC observe pay floral tributes to martyrs of Galwan Valley
lit candles in memory, Indian envoy to China cautions China against coercion


Leh(Ladakh), June 27, (Scoop News)-All India Congress Committee (AICC) general sectary, Priynka Gandhi, who expressed dismay over maintaining silence by its leaders against the government on China imbroglio. She said it is only Rahul Gandhi who is taking head on against Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

On Friday, the Congress leaders made their presence felt by holding sit in protest to observe “Shaheedon Ko Salaam Divas” in Jammu, Leh and elsewhere in the country.

As part of nationwide programme of AICC, senior leaders of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC)., district committees, Frontal Wings of the party like Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal and Cells besides other senior leaders assembled at their party headquarters and paid floral tributes to martyrs by lighting candles.

In Jammu, the Youth Congraess offered floral tributes to martyrs and raising slogans against China and the Prime Minister of India for concealing vital information from the countrymen.

A similar programme was held at Leh where Territorial Congress committee (TCC) led by Nawang Rigzin Jora, Tsering Samphel and others raised the issue of Chinese incursion in the Depsang area in Daulat Beig Oldie (DBO). Congress councilors, leaders and activists participated in the function to pay homage to the martyrs of the Galwan Valley.

They lit candles in memory of 20 soldiers who laid down their lives while defending the nation and also observed two minute silence as a mark of respect for the departed souls.

Jora said the war is not solution to push back the Chinese army but the imbroglio must be resolved through dialogue to avoid it from becoming another vexed issue. They assured that Congress and the people of Ladakh will extend full support to the Central Government’s decision to resolve the border issue with China. w

The Congress leaders said during their rule, incursions took place in inches but now it is taking place in kilometers which is worrisome for the country. They alleged that while the Prime Minister was entertaining Xi Jingpin in Ahmedabad in 2014, incursions in Demchok and Chebur were executed by Chinese troops.

TCC also endorsed the stand of AICC over questions raised by the top party leadership regarding the Prime Minister statement in all party meeting creating confusion over the stand of the country regarding treacherous activities by China.

Meanwhile, India’s envoy to China, Vikram Misri, has cautioned his host country to desist from attempting to alter the status quo on the ground by resorting to force and this will not damage the peace and tranquility that prevails in the border areas but can be met with consequences.

Urging Beijing to stop its activities in eastern Ladakh, he said to change the status quo by force will not be the right way forward. Misri said China needs to to stop disrupting ithe normal patrolling of Indian soldiers.

Indian envoy to China rebuffed the China’s claim over Galwan Valley and said that such claims were not going to help the situation.
