Army pays tribute to solider killed during Counter Terrorist Operation

Srinagar,August 03 (Scoop News)- Army today, paid a befitting tribute to Late Sepoy Rambir who made the supreme sacrifice during Counter Terrorist Operation in Pandoshan village of Shopian District on 02 August 2019. In a solemn ceremony at BB Cantt, Lt Gen KJS Dhillon, Chinar Corps Commander and all ranks paid homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation. In a show of solidarity, representatives from other security agencies also joined in to pay their last respects to the martyr.

Late Sepoy Rambir sustained a bullet injury as part of a team in the Counter Terrorist Operation in Pandoshan village of Shopian District of South Kashmir. He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to 92 Base Hospital, but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

The martyr, Late Sepoy Rambir, was 24 years old and had joined the Army in 2014. He belonged to village Hulwana of Chhata tehsil of Mathura District, Uttar Pradesh and is survived by his wife and two sons.

The mortal remains of the martyr were taken for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours. In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family of the martyr and remains committed to their dignity and wellbeing.
