NC’s duplicity on political stability exposed: Balbir

Jammu, March 17 (Scoop News)-The dual face of the National Conference (NC) has been exposed by none other than its own leader, which is nothing but a political gimmick to gain mileage in the forthcoming elections of Lok Sabha in Jammu and Kashmir.
Ridiculing the claims of an ex- bureaucrat and new entrant into the National Conference (NC) after ditching Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan, has accused BR Kundal of working overtime to project NC as godfather of this State. This attitude, however, only reflects his opportunist nature, as until the other day this former bureaucrat was in the rival party and speaking against NC, Balbir said.
In a rebuff to Kundal’s statement that NC alone can give political stability to State, BJP State Spokesperson has asked the said leader whether there was uncertainty in the past when NC ruled the State for four decades at different times and if there had been political stability, how other parties got space to stand or gain more popularity than this oldest political party of the State.
Balbir Ram Rattan said that the people cannot be befooled as they are well aware of the Kashmir centric approach of NC and the double speak of leaders heading it and belonging to a single family. Sole aim of the NC high command has been to cling to power rather than brining about any stability in the state, BJP leader said lamenting how under their rule state has suffered on all fronts.
“Had there been political stability during NC regime, another regional party, PDP, could not have gained ground in the Valley”, Balbir said and questioned that how can NC leader claim of giving stability when his party boycotts polls and contests elections as per their suitability and political whims.
For political stability, strengthening of democratic institutions at the grass root level is imperative, but NC stayed away from ULBs and Panchayat elections, which were recently conducted peacefully in the State and later realizing their mistake, its leaders started crying to hold simultaneous elections of State Assembly with Lok Sabha, Balbir said, while reminding Kundal of recent decisions of the NC.
Discrimination with the Jammu and Ladakh regions, failure to induce sense of security resulting into mass migration of a particular community from Kashmir, including nationalist Muslims, had been the hallmark of NC in the past, BJP Spokesperson observed adding that Kundal cannot talk about stability as his own political career has never remained stable after his retirement.
