Luthra, Bhagat assail BJP for ignoring Jammu during 3 years’ misrule

R.S Pura,February 09 (Scoop News)- National Conference Women Wing State Vice President Mrs Bimla Luthra on Saturday assailed the BJP for pursuing divisive politics, saying due to lack of vision it pushed Jammu to backwards during over three years misrule with the PDP.

Addressing workers here, Mrs Luthra said the people of Jammu had given their mandate for development and welfare but instead of being governed they were pushed to the wall.

Mrs Luthra said that developmental machinery witnessed total collapse during these years and the utility services suffered a major jolt. She said the services like power, drinking water, roads, and health etcetera were most hit, resulting in crisis like situation in the State in general and Jammu in particular.

Speaking on the occasion, the former MLA Mr Gagan Bhagat said the BJP’s misgovernance is a bad chapter of Jammu and Kashmir history. He said the dream of Ache Din got transformed into a nightmare, as the BJP reneged on every single statement and promise they made to the people. He said grievances of the people on account of scarce rations, better health care and availability of minimum basics were overlooked. Instead of attending to peoples’ needs, the BJP indulged in whipping up passions by raking up emotive slogans in a bid to hide its failures, he added.

Mr Bhagat said that due to policy paralysis of the ruling dispensation, the people found themselves in lurch with development coming to grinding halt and administration suffering chronic inertia due to lack of direction and political will.

Those who were present in the meeting included:- Mrs Bharti, Mrs Raj Kumari, Mrs Jyoti, Mrs Rani Devi, Mrs Tillky, Mrs Puja Devi, and Mr Sat Pal Dogra and others.
