Leh(Ladakh), December 18, (Scoop News)-Several political, social and religious groups of Ladakh have urged the Governor, Satya Pal Malik, to give due representation to the region in the State Administrative Council (SAC).
“Both Kashmir and Jammu divisions have representation in the SAC except the Ladakh,” they pointed out and said “the region remains unrepresented in the SAC even after being historically, culturally, linguistically and geographically distinct from two other divisions of the state.”

They urged the Governor to induct an experienced, upright person with enormous understanding about the issues pertaining to the state be inducted into the SAC who could do justice with the strategic region which is faced with hostile neighbours on its three sides.
They also demanded the urgent announcement of an ‘Administrative Division’ for the region. They said the same could be done in consultation with Chief Secretary, Financial Commissioner (Revenue) and Revenue Secretary. For financial implications, advice could be sought from the Principal Secretary (Finance).
Meanwhile, they expressed their sincere gratitude to the Governor, Satya Pal Malik, for approving the Jammu and Kashmir University of Ladakh Bill-2018.
