Jammu, September 21, (Scoop News)-In a attempt to express solidarity with Kashmiris in their supposed fight against Indian occupation, Karachi Philatelic Bureau of Pakistan Postal Department has issued about a score of remembrance postage stamps as a token of support.
According to an Indian news channel report, some of the pictures used in these postal stamps are upsetting and depict victims of alleged atrocities in Kashmir including protest rallies, plight of women, pallet gun victims, mass graves and use of chemical weapons besides number of slain terrorists including Burhan Wani.
The postal stamps are available on e- Bay and other trading sites for US $ 6.99 (INR 497) and costs INR 5 per piece.
“This is purely a propaganda material to be used to rake up Kashmir issue at international level,” said a senior retired police officer, requesting not to be named. “Why can’t Government of India (GoI) take up the issue with their counterparts in Pakistan and lodge a strong protest with them over it,” he added.
“I have never come across such postal stamps during my entire service career in Indian Postal Department. Stamps were issued earlier on great revolutionaries or revolutions but not of terrorists or on terror related activities,” said Ishwar Chand, a retired postal employee who had worked at Philately counter of the department in Jammu and Kashmir for nearly a decade.
Incidentally, the postal stamp was issued on July 24 this year to commemorate martyrs of Kashmir and also as a token of support to the people of Kashmir.
