| 45TH inter- collegiate competitions 2018-19 | |
Jammu ,September 10 (Scoop News)-In the ongoing 45th Inter Collegiate Competitions, the Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, Jammu organized Inter-Collegiate Swimming (Men) Championship 2018-19 at Swimming pool M.A. Stadium Jammu in which 23 Swimmers from 10 colleges took part. Apart from this, competitions in Kho-Kho (M&W) and Badminton (M) were also started.
In Inter Collegiate Kho-Kho (M&W) competition, Prof. Parmeshwari Sharma, Dean Students Welfare, University of Jammu was the Chief Guest who interacted with the teams of different colleges of Jammu province and declared the competition open.
While in Inter Collegiate Badminton (M) tournament, Dr. Dharminder Mangotra (J.R. (Finance) was the Chief Guest of the occasion and interacted with all the players of the said tournament and encouraged them for participation in the games and sports for overall development of their personality alongwith Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Physical Education, University of Jammu.
Apart from the above competitions, in the Inter Collegiate Swimming (M&W) competition, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Directorate of Sports & Physical Education, University of Jammu, Jammu distributed medals amongst the winners and he also complemented the Medallist.
The detailed result of the competitions are as follows:-
SWIMMING (M)
In 50 mtr Free Style--Hardik Khajuria of SPMR College of Commerce clinched Gold Medal by completing the race in 33sec. whereas Ayush of MIET and Prithipal Singh of GDC Samba stood 2nd and 3rd positions by completing the race in 34sec. and 37 sec. respectively.
In 100 mtr Free Style —Vishesh of SPMR College of Commerce stood first 1.27.85, Mithlesh of ASCOMS 2ND 1.30 sec. and Rakesh of GDC Samba 1.35 sec.
In 200 mtr Free Style --- Vishesh of SPMR College of Commerce stood first 3.17.45 sec. Mithlesh of ASCOMS 2ND 3.17.72Prithipal Singh of GDC Samba stood 3rd 3.27.02
100 mtr. Back Stroke -ChetanSharma of P.G .Deptt. clinched Gold Medal 1.58.91 sec, 2nd Abhishek of MBSCET 2.10.15, 3RDMithlesh of ASCOMS 2.10.53.
200 mtr. Back Stroke --- ChetanSharma of P.G .Deptt. clinched Gold Medal by completing the race in 4. 49sec. whereas Vishal kumar of GDC Samba and Abhishek of M.B.S.C.E.T. stood 2nd and 3rd positions by completing the race in 5.39sec. and 6. 17 sec.
100 mtr. Breast Stroke -- Ayush of MIET Stood first 1.41.88sec, Hardik of SPMR College of Commerce 2nd 1.51.78sec, and Vishal sharma of GDC Hiranagar 3rd 1.54.25.
200 mtr. Breast Stroke ---Ayush of MIET Stood first 4.05sec. Chetan Sharma of P.G .Deptt. 2nd 4.26.87sec, 3rdAbhay of GDC Samba 6.53.12sec.
In Inter Collegiate Swimming (M), the overall Championship goes to SPMR College of Commerce who secured 3 gold and 1 silver (total 18 points).

Women Section
1. GCW Gandhi Nagar beat GDC, Bishnah by 15 points (17-02)
2. GDC Samba beat GDC Mendhar by 10 points ( 12-02)
Men Section
1. GDC, Mendhar beat GDC R.S. Pura by 02 points(17-15)
2. GDC, Udhampur beat GDC Hiranagar by 08 points (11-03)
Match officials:-Dheeraj Sharma, Anil Kumar, Jagdev Singh, ShibaliBhau, Kanchan and Gagan Kumar.
BADMINTON (M)
1. SPMR College of Commerce beat GDC, Basholi by 3-0
2. GDC, Akhnoor beat ASCOMS by 3-1
3. GDC Reasi beat IMS Patoli by 3-1
4. Trikuta Degree College beat GDC Samba by 3-0
5. Yogananda College of Engg. & Tech beat GDC Billawar by 3-1
6. GDC, Ramnagar beat Dogra Law College by 3-0
7. GGM Science College beat GDC, Hiranagar by 3-2.
The matches were officiated by Ravish Vaid, Vikram Jamwal, Rakesh Verma, Gourav Sharma, Sanjeev Sharma and Ankit Sharma.
Among others present were Sh. Mahesh Sharma, Sh. Balbeer Singh, Vijay Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Jai Bharat, VikasKarlopia,RomeshMangotra, Sh.Sumnesh Sharma,Sh.Rajkumar, Sh. Anil Kumar.
