Sunderbani, September 10 (Scoop News)-The Congress workers led by PCC Chief Spokesperson Shri Ravinder Sharma(EX-MLC), held a strong protest at Sunderbani and disrupted traffic on National Highway for hours. They were holding congress flags and banners in their hands amidst raising slogans against Modi Government over the issue of unprecedented hike during the past four years causing great hardships to poor people. The placards were carrying slogans like Modi Amit Shah Sharam Karo,Garibo Par Kush Raham Karo, Bahut Ho Gaye Mehangai Ki Maar, Ab Nahi Chahiye 2019 Main Jhumle Wali Fanku Sarkar, Aata Mehnga Dal Mehangi, Tel Mehnga, Mehngi Ho Gaye Gas, Garibo Ka Na Chullah Jale, Modi Videsh Main Kare Aiesh.

While addressing a protesters Mr. Sharma said that Petrol has become an indispensable part of our day-to-day life, and we can’t imagine our life without it. But the petrol prices are sky rocketing, and it has eventually affected each and everything that we use in our day to day life. Poor people are already working hard to earn square meal a day and this hike has definitely paralyzed these already-burdened people. Within four and half years petrol price has increased infinite times and is still increasing. It is nothing but adding fuel to the fire. Petrol hike directly or indirectly affects all the major sectors like transportation, textiles, auto, FMCG etc, for manufacturing & transportation. This has affected the prices of daily essential commodities which are transported on a daily basis. Banking sector is also expected to suffer due to high inflation level. Increase in fuel price has also increased in food price. This has a more severe impact on poor people because poor households spend more than half of their income on food and only a tenth on fuel. It is a chain reaction once started will affect all.

The finance Minister’s statement on Price hike of Petrol, Diesel in which he comments that one can spend 10-15 lacs for purchasing of car than why not he can spend on petrol, but it is unfortunate that the finance minister of the country does not understand that the community that suffers the most is the common people or “aam aadmi”, not the rich people, Ravinder said.
