LinkedIn Local Event takes place at JU

Jammu,April 8, (Scoop News)- University of Jammu today organized the first LinkedIn Local event here at the Dhanvantri Library. The event was co-hosted by Professor Dipankar Sengupta, Dean Students Placements, University of Jammu, Sh. Vikram Sahi, Dhanvantri Library, Dr. Pallvi Arora, Assistant Professor, International Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management (ICccR & HRM), University of Jammu, student co-host, Akriti Saini from MBA (International Business) Programme at ICccR & HRM and Jatinder Kour, University of Jammu. Ms. Taranum Khan, was the host providing international support and collaborated with the University Co-hosts to initiate the LinkedIn Local at University of Jammu. Ms. Taranum Khan is a certified career strategist and Ambassador, Career Professionals of Canada.

LinkedIn Local is a meetup concept that enables in connecting with the LinkedIn network offline, and beyond the job titles, company names and business cards. This event was organized with the objective of connecting the professionals in Jammu to the international professional community and establish relationships through LinkedIn based on authenticity, respect and collaboration and unlock the door to a prosperous and sustainable living.



The event began with the lighting of the traditional ceremonial lamp by the co-hosts at University of Jammu. During the event, the participants were connected to international professionals like Sam P. Larke Jr, Mentor at Veterati, Austin, Texas and facilitates by teaching the use of social media to create career security, Shelly Elsliger, who appears on the list of Globally Recognized LinkedIn Trainers, Career Specialist & Confidence Coach, Toronto, Canada and John Ribeiro, award-winning speaker, Zero2hired Author and podcaster and Leadership Development Coach, Totonto, Canada.

The participants interacted with the virtual resource persons on the several concepts like career and job security, self imaging and branding and the use of social media to connect globally and establish global relationships. The virtual resource persons also deliberated about developing effective LinkedIn accounts that can lead to creating job opportunities, career networking and professional development.
The vote of thanks was presented by Professor Dipankar Sengupta and Ms. Taranum Khan. Dr. Pallvi Arora, Assistant Professor, ICccR & HRM, University of Jammu was the master of ceremonies. ...
