Army runs tuition classes for children in remote villages
200 children benefit by this initiative, other villages ask for similar facilities




Kalaban, February 20, (Scoop News)-The Army has undertaken a novel initiative of running tuition classes for the children at Kalaban, Dakikot, Batsiyala and Makkidhar.



About 40 to 50 students at each location are benefited by this initiative through which it is ensured that children of these regions have access to education and regain interest in studies.


The number of children attending has increased to about 200, with other villages also requesting for provision of similar facilities.



These students who either do not have adequate educational facilities in their vicinity or who migrate along with cattle, miss considerable term in a calendar year and hence do not have a great deal of interest in studies. Being stragglers, these children are bound to end up as a school dropout.


Contemplating on this grave issue that is depriving the children from becoming a responsible young citizen and continuing their contribution in quest for better society, the Army based at Samote under Counter Insurgency Force (Uniform) is running tuition classes for the children of at Kalaban, Dakikot, Batsiyala throughout the year and seasonal tuitions at higher ridges of Pir Panjal Ranges, for children of migratory Gujjars and Bakkarwals at Makkidhar.



The local administration acknowledged the endeavour and conveyed their appreciation for the wholehearted efforts of Army which are bound to yield result and assist the young children in quest of a bright and better future in the present competitive world....
