Slathia terms PDP-BJP Govt as a monumental failure

Vijaypur, January 14, (Scoop News)-Former minister and Sr State Vice President Mr Surjeet Singh Slathia on Sunday lambasted the PDP-BJP dispensation for ignoring peoples’ aspirations and taking sadistic pleasure in their accumulated problems during the past three years.
“Mis-governance and accountability deficit has rendered the government invisible on ground”, Mr Slathia said while addressing a public meeting at Govindgarh in Ramgarh area.
Mr Slathia termed the present dispensation as alliance of convenience and not conviction, saying this experiment has turned out to be monumental political failure that has wreaked havoc with stability in the State and also brought about a complete collapse of the administrative machinery rendering developmental works defunct.
The former minister accused the present dispensation of bringing the state at the verge of mayhem and turmoil, saying the promises of overall development and bringing the regions closer have debunked during the first half spell of its tenure. This has not only widened the gap between regions but also brought development to a complete, unprecedented standstill, he added.
Having failed on account of deliverance and realising the political uncertainty ahead due to their inherent contradictions, Mr Slathia said the coalition wants to derive as much as it can be resorting to destabilisation of well established intuitions to further their agenda. In this context, he referred to the amendment to time-tested Panchayat Raj Act and said that this speaks of the scant regard of the PDP-BJP towards institutions, especially those empowering the people at grass roots level.
To steer the state out of the present morass, Mr Slathia urged the National Conference cadre to get further activated to meet the challenge. “Dejected and disillusioned people of the state are looking towards National Conference with hope and we have to prepare ourselves to meet their aspirations”, he said and asked the functionaries to mobiles workers for identifying the problems and agitating these at appropriate fora.
Among those present on the occasion included Sodagar Gupta, Om Parkash Attri, Sulakhan Singh, Ajab Singh, Tirth Singh, Wazir Singh, Minder Singh, Bhagwan Singh, Kulvinder Singh and Des Raj Choudhary.
On the occasion, several prominent political workers joined the National Conference, which included Arjun Singh, Swaran Singh, Veer Singh, Nishan Singh, Buta Singh and Gurinder Singh.
Mr Slathia welcomed the new entrants into the party fold and hoped that their joining will further strengthen the National Conference at grass roots level.
