Jammu University hosts the second interaction of Jammu Kashmir Furure Talks


Jammu, November 13, (Scoop News)- Jammu Kashmir Future Talk held its second event in the Auditorium of the Department of Computer Sciences and Information Technology, University of Jammu today. The main resource person was Mr Apurva Chamaria currently Vice President and Head of Corporate Marketing for HCL Technologies, veteran Angel Investor, author and thought leader. In this two hour long interaction with young students of Jammu, Mr Chamaria exhorted the students to take up entrepreneurship rather than go looking for jobs. Inititaing the discussion and subsequent interventions with stories, he encouraged students to start their own ventures immediately. He pointed out that top companies are now looking for the spirit of entrepreneurship in candidates they interview for employment. Thus he argued that that it would be more sensible to use that spirit for oneself than for someone else The students who came from the various universities of Jammu division including the University of Jammu, Central University of Jammu, SPMR College of Commerce, Baba Ghulamshah Badshah University Rajouri participated enthusiastically in these discussions and discussed their business ideas with Mr Chamaria and sought advice about how to start a business. Mr Chamaria also sought to know from the students what existed in Jammu that could be exploited for commercial purposes. He also discussed the difficulties inherent in these potential ventures as brought out by the students and asked them to see these difficulties as opportunites which when exploited would be immensely rewarding.
Earlier, the talk was initiated by Ms Shakun Sethi of Dizuna Communications and the Nodal person for Jammu Kashmir Future Talks who spoke briefly on how Jammu Kashmir Future Talks came about and introduced the speaker to the audience. Prof Dipankar Sengupta Dean Students Placement also spoke on the occasion pointing out how local products form this region as well as its tourist potential were not being appropriately being utilised.

Prof Alka Sharma, Director of The Business School also spoke on the occasion.
The Jammu and Kashmir Future Talks was initiated by Ms Priya Sethi HMOS Education in concert with the VCs of the Universities located Jammu Division to encourage the youth of Jammu to take to entrepreneurship. The current event was part of the first stage which involves organising interactions of students with established businessmen, investors and thought leaders. The first Jammu and Kashmir Future Talks was held on 27th October CUJ organised by the CUJ's Incubation Centre where this initiative was formally launched by HMOS Ms Priya Sethi. The first speaker was Mr Japan Vyas.

The current event was coorganised by the Placement Cell, University of Jammu, along with DIQA University of Jammu and The Business School University of Jammu
