Empower women for the nation to progress Devender Rana


Sarote (Nagrota), March 08 (Scoop News)- Political Advisor to Chief Minister Devender Singh Rana said that for the nation to progress it is imperative that the women are empowered and the women power is encouraged and harnessed.

Rana who was addressing a gathering in Sarote Panchayat of the Nagrota assembly constituency, here today said that women have a vital role to play in transforming the society and time has come when there should be an awakening among women and they should be politically, socially and economically independent.

Lauding the Union Government’s initiative to politically empower the women, Rana said that once the women start taking active part in the politics, the political scape of the state and the country will undergo a metamorphosis.

Rana said education among women is very important and special focus should be laid on the education of the women folk particularly in the rural and far flung areas of the state. He appealed to the people that women need to be respected and given their due place , respectability and honour in the society. He said a society which does not respect women folk does not progress and so it is very important that the women are not only empowered but also their hands should be strengthened so that their talent and their wisdom can be utilized to bring reforms in the society thereby enabling them to be harbinger of change in the social order.

He appealed to the women folk as well and urged them to actively involve themselves in the matters related to community development and social upliftment.

Rana said the state National Conference- Congress coalition government led by Omar Abdullah is committed to the equitable development in the state with special focus on the development of the downtrodden particularly those in far flung areas. He said various developmental schemes have already been put in place in the state in this direction.

Addressing the gathering Aijaz Jan, MLA Poonch said the programme and plans of the coalition government are aimed at all round development of the state especially in rural and far flung areas. This will he said will change the development scenario in the state and will bring in an era of progress and prosperity.

Addressing the gathering Ram Paul, former Minister and Chairman SC/BC Cell, said National Conference has always stood for the cause of general people and will continue to fight for the cause of the people of the state especially those who belong to socially backward classes. He appealed the people to strengthen the party at all levels so that state marches ahead on road to progress .

Addressing the gathering Taranjeet Singh Tony appealed the people to come forward and join their hands together cutting across the party lines and affiliations with the state government under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Omar Abdullah.

Among others who were present on the occasion included Rameshwar Dutt, Block President Dansal, Sham Lal, Block President Bhalwal, Sudersingh, Sarpanch, Anwar Khan, Sarpanch, Sain Khan, Sarpanch, Joginder Singh (Kaku), Satpanch, Subash Sharma, Master Dhruv Singh , Kewal Sharma, Gopal Sharma, Padu Ram, Janak Singh and others.
