| Govt invites nominations for appointment of CVC, VC | |
Jammu, February 19, (Scoop News)- The State Government has invited nominations from Administrative Secretaries for appointment of new Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) and Vigilance Commissioners in the J&K State Vigilance Commission (SVC).
The Administrative Secretaries have been asked to submit nominations by 6th March 2017. “No application will be entertained by the General Administration Department (GAD) directly from any applicant,” a notification issued by GAD said.
“Section-3 (3) of the J&K State Vigilance Commission (Amendment) Act, 2011 provides that the Chief Vigilance commissioner and the Vigilance Commissioners shall be appointed from amongst persons who have been or are in All India Service or in any Civil Service of the State or in a civil post under the State having knowledge and experience in the matters relating to vigilance, law, finance, policy making and administration including police administration,” the GAD notification said.
It said GAD vide notification dated: 29.12.2011 has already issued guidelines regarding the appointment of CVC and VCs of J&K State Vigilance Commission keeping in view the order of the Supreme Court in P J Thomas Case.
Pertinently, the incumbent Chief Vigilance Commissioner and a Vigilance Commissioner of SVC are scheduled to demit office by next week whereas other Vigilance Commissioner shall demit office next month.
“While making a nomination, a note containing reasons why in the opinion of the forwarding/sponsoring authority the person is considered to be suitable for appointment as a Chief Vigilance Commissioner/Vigilance Commissioner including merit and integrity should be made part of the nomination,” the GAD notification said adding that up-to-date curriculum vitae, including age, educational qualification and details of all posts held by the officer since the beginning of his/her career should be also provided alongwith the nomination.
