| BGSB University felicitates Dr. Javaid Rahi | | 
Rajouri ,December 16, (Scoop News)- Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri felicitated Dr. Javaid Rahi -a reputed writer of State and Chief Editor of Jammu and Kashmir, Academy of Art, Culture and Languages , at the University Auditorium, here today.
The honours were done by Prof. Javaid Masarat , Vice Chancellor, at a grand function, held in connection with 12th foundation day of the University.
A number of dignitaries, faculty members, scholars , artists and students were in the programme and Dr. Rahi's felicitation was done by the University for the his contributions to Culture Heritage of J&K.
As a prolific writer, Dr. Javaid Rahi, has written one dozen books and compiled five dictionaries including first-ever Gojri Dictionary comprising of 70 thousand words with meaning, Hindi - Gojri Dictionary, Folk-lore Dictionary of Gujjar tribe (in two volumes) and encyclopaedia of Himalayan Gujjars .Besides this , he has edited more than 300 books, issues of journals published in English, Urdu, Gojri and other regional languages. Dr. Rahi as convenor prepared the curriculum books for State Board of School Education (BOSE) in Gojri for 1st to 8th stranded .
Prior to this, Dr. Javaid Rahi has been awarded with State’s highest literary award (Best Book Award ) in 1999, Best Play Scripit Award in 2001 by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages besides he is recipient of National Fellowship Award from Ministry of Culture, Government of India New Delhi which was confer upon him for his outstanding contributions in the field of tribal Literature.
Currently , besides head of a number of research projects on J&K tribes , he is also supervising the working Rajouri and Poonch sub-offices of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages-an autonomous body.
