Devotees throng in large numbers to seek blessings at Tarsing Karmo shrine near DBO,
main attraction of festival are oraculars and their predictions to which people believe with unflinching faith


Chanthang(Ladakh),November17,(Scoop News)-Undaunted by freezing temperature , devotees in large numbers across cold arctic desert of Ladakh paid obeisance at the shrine of Tarsing Karmo Shayok, located near Daulat Beg Olde (DBO) in Changthang sub division to mark its golden jubilee celebration.

The founder of holy site Tsaring Karmo Skyabje Togdon Rinpoche, while mentioning about the significance of the festival, said that those who seek blessings from Tsaring Karmo shrine to get his/ her wishes fulfilled. He also mentioned in detail about all natural images of deities found on the mountain Tarsing Tarmo. Rinpoche said that this route was famous as Silk route in ancient time.

The two day festival coincides with 14th and 15th day of the 9th month of Tibetan calendar. The main attraction of the festival is two oracles viz Lachen Takla Wangchuk and Chushal Lah appearing on the second day corresponding with Purnima (full moon) and oraculars/ soothsayers offer predictions to which people believe with unflinching faith to prepare themselves for the future.

The adjoining mountains of Tarsing Karmo in front of natural caves, believed to possess number of intuitive depictions of deities and goddesses having immense powers soothe seekers.

Several councilors of Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) and other state officials were present on the occasion.

Chief Executive Councilor, Dr Sonam Dawa assured that he would take all possible measures to open the area for tourists and said he had already spoken to defence officials in this connection.
