Div Com reviews arrangements for ensuing Shab-e-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida & Eid-ul-Fitr
Srinagar, June 29 (Scoop News)- In view of arrangements for ensuing celebration of Shab-i-Qadr, Jamat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr festivals, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon convened a joint meeting of officers of Divisional Administration, representatives of various Trade Federations of Srinagar district. The discussions were held for facilities being provided to general people like Mutton, Ration, Atta, Sugar, LPG and other basic facilities.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Vice Chairman LAWDA, Director CA&PD, Chief Engineer EM&RE Kashmir, Regional Transport Officer Kashmir, Director Health, DIF police/Traffic, SSP Traffic besides senior officers of different departments like LAWDA, R&B, PHE, PDD, SMC, Animal Husbandry, Drug and Food Safety organization, SRTC, RTO, Fire & Emergency Services, J&K Muslim Wakf Board, Urban Local Bodies, Civil Society and representatives of various Trade Federations of Srinagar City.
The Div Com also convened a meeting through Video Conference with all Deputy Commissioners of Valley including Deputy Commissioners of Leh and Kargil and reviewed the arrangements being made in their respective districts for these auspicious days.
The Div Com asked the departments of Food Safety, CA&PD Kashmir, Srinagar Municipal Corporation and Metrology departments to intensify the market checking in the Srinagar city and take legal action against profiteers and black marketers.
The Director CA&PD informed the meeting that adequate stock of essential commodities is available in the valley besides, additional quota of 1 kg of sugar is being provided to the consumers.
The Div Com directed all Deputy Commissioners of Valley for providing better transport facility to the people during these auspicious days.
Dr. Samoon also directed the concerned authorities to provide better sanitation arrangements in the city and other important religious places. He also directed the PDD and Srinagar Municipal Corporation for installation of street lights at important places of Srinagar city.
He was informed that better transport facilities will be provided to the devotees visiting Dargah Hazratbal, Eidgah and other religious places by SRTC and other transport services.
Dr. Samoon was informed that for the minimizing the traffic jamming in the city a traffic route plan would be formulated.
