Jora dares Speaker for rejecting his bill on reservation in promotion for reserved category
Congress members storm well , shout slogans against Chair, stage walkout
Srinagar, June 29, (Scoop News)-Congress Legislator Party (CLP) leader and a lawmaker from Leh constituency of Ladakh region, Nawang Rigzin Jora, Wednesday contested the Speaker ruling in the Assembly when his bill for reservation in promotion for reserved category was rejected and not listed in days business on Private Members bills .

Jora dared the Speaker on what grounds has he rejected his bill and called into question that It was not against the Constitution - in fact the constitution provides for reservation; it was not against the territorial integrity of the state and the country ; it was still not against any issue that is beyond the constitutional boundaries of the state .

"Therefore on what basis have you rejected my bill'," asked Jora.

When the speaker refused to answer these questions and also did not allow CLP leader to raise the matter, Jora accompanied by his party colleagues Asgar Karbalie , Deldan Namgyal ,Ch . Akram and Mumtaz Khan - all congress MLAs of reserved category - stormed the well of the house blaming the Speaker of "murdering democracy."

Reminding the speaker that Assembly is the temple of democracy and the speaker is its priest , Jora and MLAs alleged the speaker is against reserved category people who constitute 50 percent of the people in the state .

They raised slogans against the Speaker for murdering the democratic rights of the reserved category . Later on, they staged a walked out and shouted slogans against the Chair.

Speaking to media, CLP leader charged the Speaker of being a "fascist and dictatorial" , and said, that "rather than being a guardian of the house , he is biased towards a section of the house - against the downtrodden , the poor and the marginal section."...
