| RRB at Sungri organises a cricket tournament | | 8 teams from remote corners of Mahore participating in a week long series. |
Sungri, May 4, (Scoop News)-The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion at Bagga under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Uniform Force Headquarters, Reasi is conducting a cricket tournament at village Sungri in coordination with the village level sports bodies for the youth of the region.
The tournament was conducted with the aim of identifying and encouraging raw talent from villages in remote areas.
Eight teams from remote corners of Mahore tehsil are participating in a week long tournament played on a league cum knock out basis. The tournament evoked a massive response from the youth of the region who participated with elan.
Prizes were awarded to the winner and Runner up team other than individual awards for the Man of the Series and Man of the Match. The event has brought the talents to the forefront and would encourage the youth to pick up sports at various levels.
The local populace thanked the Army and said such tournaments give a chance to the local youth in the region.
