Ensure time-bound implementation of MMSFES: Secretary CAPD




Srinagar, May 03 (Scoop News)- Secretary, Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CAPD), Shafeeq Ahmad Raina, today held a review meeting with regard time-bound implementation of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Food Entitlement Scheme (MMSFES).
The Secretary directed the concerned officials to be fully prepared for implementing the MMSFES. He said the scheme is poor people-oriented and is scheduled to be implemented from July 1, 2016 in the state.
The secretary stressed on the need to maintain transparency in the implementation of National Food Security Act (NFSA). He said that the lacunae, if any, found in the implementation of NFSA should be addressed immediately so that its benefits reach to the deserving section of the society without any difficulty.
He also directed the officials to regularly conduct field visits to ensure that the supply of essential commodities reaches to the ration store for the people living in far-flung areas.
The meeting took various decisions to further improve the functioning of the department at grass root level. The Secretary directed the officials to complete the database so that ration cards will be issued as early as possible.
Director CAPD, Mushtaq Ahmad Shah, Deputy Director, Sajid Naqaash, Assistant Director, Azad Ahmad Shora and Assistant Directors of all districts of the valley were present in the meeting.
