Veeri reviews implementation of DDB decisions
Pulwama, November 30 (Scoop News)- The Minister for Horticulture Hajj & Aquaf, A R Veeri today convened a meeting to review the status of implementation of District Development Board meeting decisions.
The Minister who is also the chairman of DDB Pulwama reviewed sector wise physical and financial achievements registered in the district under district plan 2015-16.
He reviewed the action taken by the concerned departments for effective implementation of the decisions taken in the DDB meeting held earlier .
MLA Pulwama Mohammad Khalil Band, MLA Pampore Zahoor Ahmad, District Development Commissioner Pulwama Niraj Kumar, SSP Pulwama Tijender Singh, Heads of various departments, senior officers from district administration and members of Gujjar Advisor Board were present in the meeting.
The chair was informed that an expenditure of about Rs 29.26 crore has been made so far achieving a target of 63.33% .
The Minister was also apprised that, 177 kilometer roads have been macadamized while works on six bridges is apace and will be completed by the end of this financial year, it was also given out that three water supply schemes have been commissioned ,five Public Health Centres and three high school building stand completed so far in the district.
During the meeting the minister asked the horticulture department to create awareness among fruit growers so that they can avail maximum benefits from the various schemes and the horticulture sector gets a fillip. Minister also directed DDC Pulwama and SSP to ensure strict check and take action against the store houses selling substandard pesticides to growers.
The Minister directed the Power Development Department to avoid un scheduled curtailments so that the public does not face any hardship during winters.
He said that providing better services to the general public should be the priority and the concerned departments should ensure that there is no laxity in this regard.
