Successive govt. ignored Jammu migrants: BJP | |  Jammu, November 20 (Scoop News)-BJP State Spokespersons, Prof. Virender Gupta and Balbir Ram Rattan, while addressing the media on Friday, said that Centre as well as state’s PDP-BJP coalition is trying by all possible means to address the long pending and genuine demands of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The demand pertaining to the migrants from militancy affected areas of Jammu province of getting assistance from the government at par with the migrants from Kashmir province, remained unheard and ignored by the previous governments despite directions from the Hon’ble Supreme Court and stands resolved with BJP-led NDA taking over the reins at the centre. In a recent Cabinet Meeting of the Union Government, decision on package for the migrants of Jammu province was announced wherein apart from the usual ration, a person of the migrant family shall get Rs. 2500 which is subject to maximum of Rs. 10000 per month per family. “The state unit of BJP welcomes this decision and assures to take up the other issues of the migrant families with the state as well as central government and appeals the state government to initiate the process of registration of the migrants families of Jammu province and of providing relief to the families as announced by the central government”, they said. Commenting on the Package for POJK and Chamb displaced persons as announced by the Prime Minister, BJP spokespersons assured that present state and the centre governments are committed for ‘one time settlement’ and the money shall not be allowed to come in the way as promised by the Prime Minister. However, they said that state BJP requests the state government to get registered the genuine left over families who so far have not been registered and also asks the rehabilitation department of the state to put registered families on its web-site. The BJP spokespersons said that present state government has been working on its principals of equitable development of all the regions of the state and put the state on the track of progress and prosperity.
