Satwant assails govt for ignoring people problems
Kathua, September 3 (Scoop News)-Provincial President of Women Wing Satwant Kaur Dogra today criticized PDP-BJP government for ignoring people problems and paying little attention towards the maintenance of utility services in Jammu Province. She was accompanied by Reeta Gupta, Dilshad Malik, Satya Jamwal, Manveer Kaur, Veena Oberoi, Satwant Kaur@ Satya, Pinky Bhatt, Julekha, Nirmal Singh and AmritVersha.
Addressing the public meeting organized by Neelam Sharma and ParveenKaushar Bhatti, the Women Wing President Satwant Kaur Dogra said that people of J&K are facing worst ever power and water crises due to the callous attitude of the government and alleged that hundreds of transformers and PHE sub stations are lying defunct inKathua and Samba districts and the government has failed to find an everlasting solution for repairs forcing people to suffer in the scorching heat. She said that certain areas were witnessing power cuts up to 15 hours and the irony is that the PDD is harassing consumers instead of meeting the demand of power. The callous attitude of the government has generated a lot of resentment in the people forcing them to protest by blocking roads and highways.
Terming PDP-BJP government a total failure on all fronts, Satwant Dogra said that the government has failed to grant compensation to the victims of cross border/LOC shelling in border villages and appealed government to grant Rs. 25 Lakhs to those families who lost their loved one besidesRs. 20 Lakhs to permanent disabled and Rs.05 Lakhs to those who are seriously injured. She said government failed to grant package of Rs 25 lacs per family to the refugees of 1965, 1971 which was approved by NC led Government under the dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah. Expressing solidarity with Ex-Servicemen, she alleged that government is insulting the Ex-Servicemen of the country and demoralizing the saviors of motherland by delaying One Rank One Pension (OROP).
Women Wing President appealed people to strengthen the hands of Omar Abdullah in his efforts aimed at achieving the goal of peaceful and developed Jammu and Kashmir with plenty of opportunities for people.
District President of Women Wing Kathua,Neelam Sharma said that National Conference has made many sacrifices to uphold communal amity, regional unity, equitable opportunity of growth and permanent peace in the state and appealed people to strengthen National Conference.
