Secretary reviews functioning of Science and Technology dept
Jammu, March 27 (Scoop News)- Secretary Science & Technology and Information Department Saurabh Bhagat today visited the office of J&K State Council for Science and Technology and convened a meeting to review the reviewed the functioning.
Joint Director S&T Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad apprised the chair about the functioning of the organization and ongoing developmental schemes & issues and problems being faced by the employees. He was also informed about the various science events lined up for the next month viz Women Science Congress at GCW, Nawakadal, Srinagar, Agricultural Science Congress at SKUAST Jammu, Training workshop on Bi-chemical Laboratory Diagnosis at SKUAST Kashmir ,Scholarship 2014 distribution function separately for Jammu and Srinagar.
Mr Bhagat asked the officers to work in tandem and cohesion & not to restrict their work to ongoing developmental activities and schemes but to initiate and mobilize funds for new initiatives. He asked them to visit state Science and Technology Departments of other states, Department of Science & Technology Department of Earth Sciences and Department of Atomic Energy GOI and replicate the programmes in the State.
The concerned officers were asked to initiate proposals for holding of DPC, career advancement/progression scheme, Promotion of eligible supporting staff, filling up of vacant posts on fast track basis, Mobilization of funds for purchase of vehicle, furniture/fixture damaged in recent floods.
He stressed for wider publicity and transparency by uploading RTI handbook on the website, formulating RFD and to ensure full publicity to all schemes and activities regularly in print and electronic media publish Annual Report / News Letter regularly.
Secretary asked to ensure that expenditures are booked in full, no funds should be left unspent the under-performance in expenditure shall not be tolerated .He asked the officers to regularly visit different agencies of Government of India for mobilizing funds ,studying their programmes for replicating the same in the state.
