Integrated Pest Management Technology Delivered in On Farm School Under NMAET

Jammu, February 14, (Scoop News)-Fourth one day Training Programme Organized in On Farm School at Village Jerda, Block Ramgarh, District Samba under National Mission On Agricultural Extension and Technology .
Scientist from SKAUST- J Dr Reena delivered her technical message to the participants of the On Farm School regarding use of Pheromone and yellow sticky traps in their fields crops and avoid too much use of insecticide / Pesticide in their crops so that population of predators could be maintained to control pest infestation. She also added that use of cow urine as insecticide / Pesticides is beneficial for their field crops.
Dr. Sonika Jamwal while delivering her lecture put stress to the participants of the On Farm School to visit their fields of wheat crop regularly as and when they observe the symptoms of yellow rust disease in their crop immediately spray Propaconazole @ 1 ml per ltrs of water without any delay. She further advised the farmers not to use insecticide / pesticide without knowing the ground reality of crop and proper recommendation by the experts.
Project Director ATMA V. K. Bhushan educate the farmers to remain vigilant and interact each and every problem related to their field crops with the experts of the department and Scientist from the SKAUST. He further added to adopt seed production technology by using improved agronomic practices.
Dy. Project Director ATMA Ashok Gupta review the feed backs of previous training programmes and delivered Integrated Pest Management Technology (IPM) regarding infestation of aphid (sucking Pest) in wheat crop. He further brief the participants of the On Farm School role of lady bird beetal as ( bio-control agent ) to control unwanted living organism (Pest) present in the crop.
Assistant Technical Manager (ATMA) Parshotam Sharma aware the farmers regarding sowing of summer pulses i. e. Mash and Moong and advised the farmers to arrange seed and fertilizer well in advance before the sowing of the crop.
Agriculture Extension Officer Ramgarh, Kuldeep Peshin aware the farmers regarding different schemes available with the department for the betterment of farming community.
Village Agriculture Extension Assistant Rajesh Sharma delivered his technical message regarding plant protection measures. Relevant literature regarding disease management in wheat crop was also provided to the participants of the On Farm School .
At the end of the training programme Sarpanch Sardar Mohan Singh Bhatti while interacting with the experts of the On Farm School appreciate the efforts of the ATMA team for conducting Scientific based training programmes during the different stages of the crop. It seems that every training programmes have its own importance as feedback observed from the participants of On Farm School. Achiever farmer Sardar Meher Singh remain present during the training programme.
