Discrimination with Jammu continues by State Government :BJP



Jammu,September 30, (Scoop News)- Senior BJP leader and Secretary, State Election Campaign Committee Sat Sharma (CA) charged allegations on the State Government on the grounds of discrimination and stated that once again the coalition government in the State has shown its true colors by not giving Jammu what it deserved to get. He directly quoted Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and MoS Power Viqar Rasool in this context.

In a press statement issued, Sat Sharma said that it is not the first time when State Government has neglected Jammu region. He said that there are several other occasions in the history of Jammu and Kashmir when disappointment had to be faced by the people of Jammu region. He stated that not only one region but the whole State witnessed the series of power cuts and burning transformers and for many days people of Jammu had to wait for their power supply to come back.

In this regard, he stated that the Maintenance Wing of PDD Jammu gave orders of worth Rupees Five crores to Power Grid Corporation for replacing transformers of Jammu region and in return they issued 46 transformers of 63KVA and 36 transformers of 100KVA to Jammu but now when the Grid Corporation has granted another order of high capacitated 40 transformers of 400 KVA to Jammu, the State Government has allotted 15 transformers to Jammu region and 25 transformers to Kashmir region. He further also stated that high capacity transformers are being sent to valley where as low capacity transformers are installed in Jammu which will ultimately result in their damage when the problem of overloading and bad weather will arise in Jammu region. He also alleged that further orders with Power Grid Corporation for high capacity transformers are being diversified to Kashmir region only and nothing has been allotted for Jammu in this regard.

He alleged that discrimination on a very serious level is being done by the State Government with the people and has always neglected the rights of masses of Jammu region. ...
